My Screen Capture - desktop capturing utility
If you want to capture the desktop or a certain portion of the screen and you only have Windows without any additional software, you could use the Print Screen function, then paste the image into Paint and, in the end, save it as an image file. This process takes a lot of time and if the user has to capture a lot of images, it becomes really difficult. Not to mention the fact that Windows doesn't allow capturing the desktop as a video file. Fortunately, 3rd party applications that can do all this are all around, but many of them are not worth mentioning because they don't work as they pretend to do.
My Screen Capture is different, it's a complete application that does exactly what it says. That's capturing the desktop as an image or video file but doesn't limit only to this. As I was talking about Windows earlier, it's clear that the program can run on the Windows operating system.
My Screen Capture has practically two interfaces, one that can be accessed using the auto-hiding menu that comes up when hoovering the mouse on the top of the screen and the other can be viewed by double clicking on the program's icon displayed in the system tray. No matter what method is used for accessing the program's functions, they are all very intuitive. Beginners should use the menu accessible from the system tray because it seems easier to use than the one displayed on-screen.
All the capturing methods are efficiently organized in several categories, allowing the user to easily find a desired one. Speaking about this, My Screen Capture includes several methods of capturing the desktop, either by selecting a region, an active window or the entire screen. This is available for both image or video capturing.
My Screen Capture doesn't limit to capturing images or videos of the desktop, as it can also capture webcam images and also complete web pages, without having to launch the browser. A tool that makes My Screen Capture different from other capturing utilities is the possibility to capture audio that comes from the sound card. The audio source can be a microphone, the line in or the sound generated by any Windows application. Thus, one can easily record any live radio stream.
Captured images can be edited in an included image editor. Besides that, the editor can import various image files and can apply text or various effects to them. Speaking of images, My Screen Capture supports a wide range of graphical formats and the same goes for videos.
Pros:
It can capture the desktop using various methods and it can save it as an image or video file in different formats. Besides that, the program includes an image editor that can edit captured images or existing images stored on the hard disk.
Cons:
The top-screen menu seems a bit difficult to use.
My Screen Capture is a complete desktop capture utility.
